Their second performance at tiny desk is outstanding but this one is still a melodic masterpiece. I'm glad I had searched these amazing artists a second time and got the pleasure to watch this. Amazing how they had growth even more their band presence. 👏

Blew my mind seeing a man of what appears indain descent playing a trumpet with a rock jazz style. Just amazing so clean so crisp but still commanding control and power.Love it.

Some context - This is typical marriage music in India. In fact the name Red Baraat literally translates to Red 'Marriage procession' (?) So when people get married here, there's a whole crew that goes along with the groom to the marriage site, while groom is mounted on a pony. THAT posse is called a Baraat. This is of course typical to Punjabi weddings though it has infiltrated into other cultures as well.

These guys have done a huge service to Bhangra. The reason why i love Bhangra is that Raw Energy that comes from the Dol and musicians. they kept that spirit alive while mixing in some Funk to compliment it really well. I mean really compliment it. in retrospect i can see how Funk and Bhangra can feed off with each well. Never realized it before though.
