Tedeschi Trucks Band: Tiny Desk Concert
Музыка
March 25, 2016 by FELIX CONTRERAS
When singer-guitarist Susan Tedeschi sings and plays, you can hear the sound move from the Mississippi Delta up to Chicago. As this video shows, she can dispense uptempo dance grooves and coax her voice around the anguished lyric of the blues.
At the same time, guitarist Derek Trucks seems to summon forth the entirety of contemporary music when he slides his bottle neck up and down the fretboard. As you'll see, The Tedeschi Trucks Band functions in the service of a collective vision that celebrates the blues, jazz and so much more.

I have always preferred bands with 3-5 members. Tedeschi Trucks proves to be special because they exhibit a tightness with almost a dozen people that one rarely sees in a smaller group. From the horn section to the rhythm section (featuring 2 drummers) to the backup singers to the amazing talents of Derek and Susan, everyone adds an element that makes such beautiful noise. I could listen all day to this blues symphony.

Props to the tiny sound engineers! This is butter and that can't be an easy space to record in. Event the vocals sound delightful. What a joy.
For me, even all these years later, the way Susan looks at Derek when he's shredding still brings a small tear to my eye :')
The longest and most dangerous journey any human will ever make is the journey to find our heart. This band made me rediscover that journey, the music I have just witnessed is that from the heart. Love you all, keep spreading to the whole world your great talent.

Well said Johnny! Totally feel you. Its easy to get our hopes up and be let down in this world. Just gotta keep rollin and keep dancin. Dont expect much from an individual, but the right ones come along every now and then and help you shine. Be grateful, but dont hang on. Just keep on dancin with all of us. No possession = no harm.

The consumer has the power to support real music
I saw Derek for the first time in Fort Myers Fl. in a little club. I think he was 14 years old. I was blown away. Since then I've been a huge fan. In my humble opinion, Tedeschi Trucks band is currently the best band in the land. Susan's vocals are so soulful and everyone in the band is so humble. All of them are world class musicians. There is definitely a sharing of something deeper than just chords, notes, melodies and harmonies that transpires when you see these guys. So thank you for all of the incredible music. And I hope you guys keep doing it for many years to come.
Susan Tedeschi is just amazing so good for my soul thanks
There's a layer in this performance where some of the musicians acknowledge that it's a weird place to play a show, the sound isn't anything like they're used to and there's glances and nods among them to that end. The funny thing is even though that's going on they still turn in an absolute diamond set that's still picking up serious views even in 2021. Incredible scenes.
No way I thought this band was gonna sound like this. Bless you, Tiny Desk....a truly endless musical treasure mine.

My bandmates and I just saw them live at Peach Fest and were blown away, so much soul in these artists and so much soul shared out into the world. Highly enjoyed every aspect of it, I may have cried during a sax solo XD

Never heard of this band until 2weelks ago to my shame. What a revelation. One of the finest blues voices on the planet.
The Tiny Desk format reveals the humanity of the artist better than any other I can think of. We don't just hear a great set, we see the human behind the music. For instance, Susan's joy in her husband , the connection, Derek's focus and zen-master calm. We end up knowing far more about the human behind the sound than we deserve.
What a great band...and that bass man is laying down the underpinning so well....
