The 1975: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
Музыка
As lead singer of the youthful Manchester band The 1975, Matthew Healy has cranked out a batch of enjoyably wiry songs, most notably the singles "Chocolate" and "Sex" - each of which has attracted more than a million KZread plays. The group has been bubbling up, here and in the U.K., for the last year or two, as it's toured with Muse and released an album and four EPs full of brash-but-winsome, electronics-tinged pop-rock.
So The 1975 knows its way around bigness. But, when asked to strip his band's sound down to fit the intimate confines of the Tiny Desk, Healy didn't hesitate to transform both his songs and himself. Performing solo with a guitar - he even goes fully acoustic for his two hits - he's reborn as an earnest troubadour, while his songs now register as melancholy musings. They're remarkably sturdy in any form, as this bit of left-field sweetness amply demonstrates. --STEPHEN THOMPSON

"Nothing happened, I just fell in love with her a bit." But isn't that of the most important things that could happen? Falling in love, with anyway it ends? Oh, Matt. Keep doing this. The world needs it, and you. :)
i like his voice because it's so full of emotion, even if some song lyrics don't convey any emotion in them. in sex, you can hear the heartbreak. i think that's what makes people different, the vulnerability and emotion sets people apart.

Acoustic songs were invented to make you cry.
been almost 8 years since i first hear this song here, and i always come back once in awhile just to reminiscing those good old vibes from these songs,, hearing it is like also seeing the lads transform from this cute little boys to (now) this big brilliant artist,, no matter how famous they are now, my heart goes way back to the day when they first made that black and white album,,,
For all the people that think Matty has a bad voice look up "Matty Healy Hallelujah" In the video he's about 17 and isn't using the same style of singing he is using for The 1975. I would recommend it!!
the little break in his voice when he says "about sex" just gets me every time, it's not like a rebellion it's just a casualty. sex never felt less taboo.

Scrolled down and read this literally as he sang it.
I think this is by far my favorite performance from Matty. How he sings, so much emotion. The way his voice trembles. I don't know. He seems like a fragile lad but there's so much more. If that made sense.
The way he said "don't stop smoking it"
You can tell he was singing all year every day when he did this. His voice is going out. but GAWD LORDY HE SOUNDS AMAZING NO MATTER WHAT. I LOVE HOW PASSIONATE HE IS WHEN HE SINGS.
This is so pure & beautiful. What an amazing piece of art. Just close your eyes and let Matthew serenade you into the clouds.
the 1975 = life
Most people's accent becomes less pronounced when they sing, some lose it altogether when they sing so you can't even tell they have an accent at all, and this has always been fascinating to me. NOW I'm fascinated by how pronounced his accent IS while he sings, lol!
I love The 1975 because I can listen to the album versions of song and move along and appreciate it, but at the same time I can listen to an acoustic version and appreciate the emotion just the same. I've yet to meet someone who doesn't like the 1975. They're truly unique and exquisite.
He puts so much emotion into his singing
