Ashley McBryde: Tiny Desk (Home) Concert
Музыка
The Tiny Desk is working from home for the foreseeable future. Introducing NPR Music's Tiny Desk (home) concerts, bringing you performances from across the country and the world. It's the same spirit - stripped-down sets, an intimate setting - just a different space.
May 14, 2020 | Stephen Thompson -- We were scheduled to host a Tiny Desk performance by Arkansas-born country singer Ashley McBryde on March 31. Obviously, we had to postpone McBryde's visit, but lucky for us, she didn't push back the release of her stellar second album, Never Will, which came out April 3. For her Tiny Desk (home) concert, McBryde and her bandmates isolated and washed their hands before coming together to perform one of our Best Songs Of 2019, "One Night Standards," and three more gorgeous songs from Never Will. In particular, "Hang In There Girl" - which opens both the album and this set - is a perfect song for this moment, not that there's ever a wrong time to hear someone sing, "Trust me when I say, you're doing fine."
SET LIST
"Hang In There Girl"
"One Night Standards"

"Sparrow"

Im a big fan of Ashley and I just wanted to say thanks NPR for not neglecting the women voices of country and not expecting them to be "tomatoes" in the salad mix. Much love.

Velvet red is such a beautiful love story. Wether I'm drinking or reminiscing on a past love, or thinking about my grandparents love stories. Just timeless.

If all country songs were like this, I'd be wearing a 10 gallon hat and chewing dip rn
This song gets me through it all . . . thank you Ashley!
The mandolorian's eye-roll when he first strummed after all that tuning...

I love that this is all acoustic!
I always come across Hang in There Girl just when I need to hear it, can't wait to hear you LIVE someday.
love Chris's perfectionism with the tuning - mandolin sounds of the soul and truth, like TN blues : )

The voices are so beautiful!
Beautiful tunes!
Love you Ashley
Please don't ever change. You are awesome Just the Way You Are don't let them dress you up don't let them change the way you look. Eric Church described you perfectly! Don't let them dress you up and powder you up. Stay in those rolled up T-shirts and blue jeans.
God LOVES YOU ASHLEY 🎉❤❤❤
Man that was beautiful. Really loved the last song. It got me all welled up. You got a new fan.
Loved this! Thank you!!!

Velvet Red just sounds gospel to me, not the lyrics. But just the feel. I like it.
Sparrow sounds to a T like The Avett brothers song “shame” I believe

You'd probably have even more money if you had a dollar for every time you said or thought something mean and/or bitter under the guise of "humor".
REALLY?! I think it is great that you are blessing us with beautiful music. I think it isn't al all good that you are NOT following the super simpel and basic guidelines of social distancing. The way you are following the guidelines is not at all following the guidelines. If you have been at home and you washed your hands is for sure not enough. Especially the comment: "We are all in good health doesn't really work like that. I mean did you do a test to see if you have or don't have covid19. If it was as simple as you make it seem than people wouldn't have so much trouble with all the guidelines. It seems that you are neclecting the most important one: 2 feet apart. And thinking and feeling healthy doesn't count as a legit mesurment. So far tiny desk was really an inspiration and an exampel of how you can social distance and still continue creating and sharing music in a save way. I's to bad that you have nectlected the most important rule and are giving a bad social distancing exampel. I wish you well, hope you are save, sain and happy.

Good intention, bad execution
Guys why are we ignoring the very problematic statue in the back! That is not okay to have.
...and that statue of an indigenous man in the back?? :/
Shame about the statue.
Plandemic inc merch 🙄
This is nice I guess, but three guitars just playing chords in the same strumming pattern is the most unnecessary thing I've ever seen. There are more creative ways to perform three guitars. But like it's not terrible.

@@hooblerdgs I'm allowed to speak my piece. It's not a big deal if I feel a certain way about something you like. As an avid watcher of the tiny desk concert series, I'm entitled to post my opinion on here. I sincerely don't think it's terrible, it's just redundant.
Great voice but your two side kicks added nothing to your performance.
just knew it would be country - for Trump fans
