Thats some powerful stuff. What music/musicians do you consider your greatest influences? I ask because I hear so many different things in your music. A bit of blues, some funk, a touch of hip-hop, a smattering of gospel and roots mixed with a healthy dose of self-deprecating irreverence...

Trouble is it's become so hard to find. There's never anything good on the radio released in the past 15 years, the only way I find good current artists is on KZread and similar places.

Yes, the radio doesn't has much to offer nowadays, but with things like Tiny Desk we definitely can't say it's difficult to find great music ;)

Truly an awesome band. His voice reached way, way back into the past, into the roots of the blues, and then planted these into his own, modern story...I found it riveting and am really glad you brought them in.

This guy has so much "WOW". He's actually 50 yrs old. Looks about 26. Almost died. Lost recording contract. Used this to spring his career forward. Won Grammy. Inspired by Prince to take music seriously. Makes "black music for all people", true anti-racism. Shares suit jackets when stylistically excellent. Grand stuff.

Soooooooooooo happy he won a Grammy

My new favorite band.. They put everything on the line unforgiving.

Just stunning. Floored. Worthy winner. Another TDC classic, here. This fellow is one to watch. Bravo.

Something nice about seeing someone sing a foot away from the mic without an in-ear monitor - obviously super present in the moment and vibing the room. Like a singalong around a campfire.

I'm a total newbie to this kind of music, being British born in the 70's, This is how true music should sound. Awesome Music and Band, never stop playing, made a converter out of this soul. Blessed Be. :)

I first discovered Fantastic Negrito a while back through the 'Tiny Desk Concert' series on You Tube. I was hooked in the first few seconds and now have all their CDs. Whenever I am feeling lethargic or down, I listen to them and am instantly energized. Thank you, thank you! So powerful.

You all represent Oakland for what it has always been, a creative Mecca, a raw representation of power and self expression. We never asked to be cool baby, cool asked to us! I’m loving all of it!
