Heard "Colors" while grocery shopping the other day and was insanely excited to hear it on the radio. Absolutely amazing artist. One of my favorite Tiny Desks.

Exquisite voice... She's so genuine and sings each syllable as if it were sacred. Hard to come across talent with so much belief and emotion in what they're presenting these days... And what a sweet giggle. I hope I can see her perform on stage one day. Thanks for sharing this.

I’m super impressed. G, goes for it when she sings. This is acapella, if you don’t have it it’ll show. First saw G on Daryl Hall’s at home series when she was with Company of Thieves. She was a just a little bug 🐛 then. I suggest you watch that. Held her own with multi grammy winning artists who seemed “impressed”.

You don't have to be impressed by music to love or connect with it.

"Authority" was special, almost spiritual for me. Love her music!!

She is truly enjoying herself while performing her enthusiasm is contagious. That is so important. I learned something this Sunday morning. Hello from Los Angeles.

I freaking love her vibes you can see she is having so much fun!!

We were on an hour long commute that I often take with my wife and two daughters. The girls were all wound up and talking and giggling too much. My wife was stressed because it was difficult for the two of us to talk. My oldest suggested we put music on and wanted to pick it. She was angling for some teenage pop I don't know what and I was fast being out voted. Because I'm the dad, it's my truck, and I'm higher on the food chain....I put on Tiny Desk to cries of protest. Half way through her first song I was still getting resistance. My ruling was that we needed to give it time. For the record, I fully enjoyed Colors. Something about her voice had me hooked. Genevieve started singing Enemy and all three girls went dead silent. Nobody made a peep! Enemy was almost over and my wife looked back at my 7 year old Lucy to see that she was bawling her eyes out. Apparently she was thinking about her Nana (who has brain cancer). Of course by then we were all crying. My oldest brought us back by volunteering that her voice could be as pretty as hers (Genevieve's). We listened to the rest of the set then sat in silence for the rest of the drive. ....powerful stuff. Thank you for that moment Genevieve.

That is one hell of a story. Enemy is one hell of a song.

Me and my 2 year old love this song Colors! He requests it every morning and we dance!

She completely inhabits these songs. So powerful. Very very timely.

My parents apparently know Genevieve's parents, they went to a concert of hers together and brought me back a t shirt. It is honestly one of the comfiest I own and I sleep in it all the time. She has pretty great vocals and messages now that I'm looking into her.

i visit this tiny desk episode like an old friend....many times..over the past few years...

Simplicity done to a very high standard. I just bought the EP as a result of hearing this.

This was fantastic and powerful. I love when the shotgun mic is used so it's just the artist, hands free, no obstructions, with natural tone and the sound of the room.

Very talented and original, a voice you could listen to more than once (beautiful tone, good range). Also lyrics and tune were on point. 8/10.

Why is there always someone with stupid comments about things of no importance? This is music and that is all that matters. People are free to wear whathever they want and I think she stills look lovely with that "outfit". Her voice is great and so the music.

This is absolutely beautiful, I was in the middle of something but reading John Krytus' comment and listening to the song captured me. Thank you for existing, both Genevieve and NPR. You guys are providing me sustenance to my soul, it's listening to your performances (among other things) that keeps my inner glow alive. Much love from Sweden

Genevieve your natural voice is incredible. a bit of Spektor with a Bjork squeak here and there. Your full vibrato is very powerful and so sweet. Chris Fowler is an amazingly tempered musician. . When Genevieve began to clap during Authority, she kept the tempo just behind the beat. Way to let your clapping fatten up as Chris draped the syrupy keys so sweetly over the clap & snap. After following Louis Cole around w KNOWER and gang, hearing your essence as a singer in this clip was uplifting during these times of media soak. Well done! Thanks.
