I dont see anyone talking about the symbolism of her backdrop. This set is extremely moving musically, but she's also seemed to put herself in a child's room or child's sized theme as a way of showing shes grown out of the way that people whove seen her in Hannah Montana think of her. She's grown so much from her childhood. She's so much bigger than that. Her sound is something we've yearned for in this age demographic. Its so unique and beautiful and shouldn't be confined to such a childlike mindset.

Of all the Tiny Desk performances, this one is the one that has moved me the most..

Miley’s voice is absolutely ethereal and underrated. It’s so distinct, as soon you hear it you know it’s her. So powerful, unique and diverse. Not to mention she’s a badass. She’s been criticized so so much by everyone, it’s a miracle she’s still here giving us music.

The fact that she performs so many covers alongside her own stuff really proves how much she loves and does it all *for the music* firstly.

I remember hearing on a Joe Rogan podcast that she really tore her vocal chords from years of singing but they ripped in a special way that it gave he a more raspy voice. Kind of like when an older artist hits their prime in singing but she hit that peak at a young age because she's been preforming for so long... I can't recall what exactly she was saying but it was along those lines.... Regardless she has always had a wonderful voice.

Wow I'm blown away. This showcases just how good and how clear of a perception this woman has developed of herself. Clear references and links to Dolly Parton, yet so distinctly different; I never thought someone could transform the great Dolly into something far greater. Raw in a whole different context, whereas Dolly captures your heart, Miley captures the primal feelings. Edgy yet elegant. The sheer control of her voice paired with this sense of self is just indescribable with words. The leans into the rasp, the prosody, all of it outstanding. Miley has already cemented her fame a few times; she's back to do it again.

Yes & no , we all know miley can’t be tamed , she said in an interview that she evolves- changes every day , for instance today she learned something new so she won’t be the same person tomorrow , in every stage she was true to herself understand she is young & still trying to figure herself out .

She's a force to be reckoned with... And I've heard she's a pleasure to work with and treats all her crew members with respect. A guy I dated was a prop master on one of her tours and had nothing but nice things to say about her 🙂 An excellent performance - I frequent this video to remind myself of how talented she truly is. Such a fantastic vocal command... The set... Amazing.

I really respect Miley for always doing the music she wants to do regardless of how her fans or the rest of the world feels about it. This woman has truly always been in it for the love of music.

She will be a legend and I think you should accept the fact that the new generation can still produce quality musicians. You shouldn’t need to be born in the 60s to be considered a top artist

@@Whatever3232323 dude you realize theres no "good music" right? music is just an invention of humans, only being sounds represented by notes and combine to form chords which then create some harmony which we find appealing and satisfying. If the majority of human cant determine which music is good then that goes against its whole purpose. I can agree there can be better singers determined by their vocal range but at least for me thats not enough for me to enjoy music.

Miley’s voice is so unique. She’s a living legend. So blessed to be alive to experience that

" Into Dust " is another really beautiful song by Mazzy Star. Kind of a sad song though but in a good way..✌

The lyrics to Golden G String tell us so much about her journey as an artist and as a young woman in the path of self-discovery. Thanks Miley for sharing such a strong and personal story with us! Ps. Her vocals are on point.

She is not mainstream anymore. She has moved from it and she is making very valuable art that is much better than current mainstream. It matches better some past generations and if she manages to hold on to it, she will accustom younger generations to it also, for the big benefit of music and them.

@@akckscn she is mainstream. mainstream music isn't a genre of music and there are no restrictions imposed on the type of music considered mainstream. rather its a level of fame accompanying an artist and their music. with that being said there is quite a bit of good "mainstream" music out there, this included.

Miley has grown and evolved in so many ways - her voice is incredible. Her songs - the arrangements, delivery, stylistic touches. She has really outshined a lot of others during this uncertain time for live music and changing with the times - total winner personally and professionally!

Probably one of the most genuine artists of these times honestly. I really enjoy seeing her evolve.
