Phoenix: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert

Музыка

The sounds of the group's best-selling 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix are so ubiquitous to viewers of TV commercials that they produce a Pavlovian impulse to purchase portable music players and luxury automobiles. But at this Tiny Desk Concert, instantly recognizable hits such as "1901" and "Lisztomania" were stripped down and reassembled as sweetly shambling acoustic numbers.

I will have you know that most people around the world learn English in school. I don't find it that surprising that a non-native English speaker can write such 'complex' lyrics in English. I'm not a native English speaker either. However I will say I'm surprised by the fact that they are French and they speak good English. Most French people are terrible at English because they have a self entitled sense that they don't need it so they don't put the effort in learning it at school.

Hello, 2021 here 👋 Even still these songs have stayed in my alternative playlist. Im amazed with the talent of this band -- the unique singing style of the lead vocalist --- the creativity in the cords and lyrics, put it all together and it's true artistry.

dude same! I've been loving this band for a decade and for some reason never got around to seeing them and fucking yes I was shocked. But in a good way! I pictured this very polished act filled with male models who love to party. Turns out they look like regular, down-to-earth people and it honestly just makes it even better.

This performance kept replaying threw the thin (near non-existent) sleep that happens in the thick of withdrawing from methadone. To make things even more lame, I was in a Detroit jail cell. The beauty of the notes played by these Saints gave me the inner peace that was needed to rise again. That is the magic and power of timeless songs. Thank you PHOENIX.
