Phoenix: NPR Music Tiny Desk Concert
Музыка
The sounds of the group's best-selling 2009 album Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix are so ubiquitous to viewers of TV commercials that they produce a Pavlovian impulse to purchase portable music players and luxury automobiles. But at this Tiny Desk Concert, instantly recognizable hits such as "1901" and "Lisztomania" were stripped down and reassembled as sweetly shambling acoustic numbers.

The rhythmic idea behind 1901 is just too brilliant. How they could come up with such a natural-sounding, yet completely backwards riff just blows my mind. Wolfgang Amadeus Phoenix really seems apt.

I will have you know that most people around the world learn English in school. I don't find it that surprising that a non-native English speaker can write such 'complex' lyrics in English. I'm not a native English speaker either. However I will say I'm surprised by the fact that they are French and they speak good English. Most French people are terrible at English because they have a self entitled sense that they don't need it so they don't put the effort in learning it at school.
