When the Sax kicks in it's about the sexiest thing ever.
Matt Douglas is doing god's work with that sax.

I'm sorry but you are sadly mistaken ROFL
I wish more organic electronic musicians would provide their music with this kind of space to breathe and grow. I can't get enough.

Jiggly Pufferfish I know but now it's going to be so hard to get tickets! I was going to go to a concert and my dad went to get the tickets the day the presale started, and it was sold out. They had a second show the next day and that one got sold out too

she's not a human, yungster. Get it.
She makes it look so effortless, which makes it all the more beautiful to, both, listen and watch
That sax tho...just makes it. Love sylvan esso
I would pay $1 million dollars for a new Sylvan Esso record recorded with this group.

For a million bucks I'd kidnap them and bring them back to that studio in Asheville just to force them to record an album. Then I'd fall in love with the music and the experience and give the million to them for their troubles, then I'd give them a million for the amazing music.
Some of the best music I've heard on NPR as of late.
I think this one is my favorite for hearing Amelia's voice, something in it hits me the right way
Can't listen to the studio version anymore without whistling that saxophone riff.
God this vibe is the best. Thank you for this piece of art!
Mountain Man together again:)
Amelia's voice is mesmerizing and so so lovely.

I'm a bass player and the bass player, she did her thing. Great timing and the sound is fire
Wow! It’s so amazing to hear a full band arrangement of this son. Excellent synth choice with the Prophet 6, too.
How is her voice even real? Good lord ❤️
Reminds me of Tune Yards. Great job.
i love these guys . this full band makes me so happy to hear
Really hoping they all go on tour together.

This whole session is Pure Magic! Everyone in this band is just Killin' it...So cute to see the expressions after each performance: "Yeah, we nailed it..." SE + friends: Take this show on the road...PLEASE!!!
This is so beautiful I am literally crying.
Love how Jenn Wasner and Matt Douglas work so well together on this song. Both are awesome musicians.
The camera work on this is as spot on as the music.
just feels right to see all of them together!
This is simply amazing. Thank you, NPR, for showing me Sylvan Esso.
Such good lyrics. Such great jamz!
Love each individual voice. Sax guy has great riiff. And fade to black nails it!
damn NPR, i love you for doing what you do and this amazing sound quality!
the synthesizers and trumpets mashed up together is craziness
This is so great. Reminds me of when Sam Beam added a full band with horns to Iron & Wine. I love Amelia and Nick together but this is a really cool progression.
Major chills. So so good.
This sounds SO great. It's amazing to think that they recorded all these amazing sounds in 1 day. Such an easy listen.
Wow!!! Incredible!! Drove up to NC from florida a few months ago to see you guys!! that was incredible too! Thanks for creating magic! You're Amazing!
a fucking saxophone, hold me
I love the use of the saxophone in this song!
oh my word! love the sax!
Wonderful....amazing....the whole thing.
Man, and I thought the original was unbeatable. This is damn good stuff.
Love the collaboration. It's amazing to hear them with full band so much depth you can't do with a mixer alone. Hope they continue more of these sessions.
Omg I'm so glad to see them making it big!!
Wow! It's hard to top the original version, but this one is even more amazing! The addition of the other muscians is fantastic.
This is amazing and I haven't even heard of them before. They've got a new fan ;)
I dont know what effect they are running that sax through, but it sounds so good!
I love this new album!!! I've been waiting forever
Beautiful music to get me through the work day.
Punchy and fun. Great version. Thank you! My "song of the summer" this year.

I heart Mountain Man
That bass guitar tone is huge!
This is a goddamn treasure! Brilliant
more of this ASAP.
Wanna hear my interpretation? Probably not, but here it goes: She had the opportunity to live a hedonistic life of mediocrity until she inevitably died of an overdose, or suicide, or any number of ways a person who no longer sees beauty in themselves quietly leaves this life. Then she met someone. Someone who embodied everything right and beautiful in this world that she had assumed no longer existed. All of a sudden, her perfectly laid plans to live an underwhelming life and prematurely die in something of a whimper was no longer as appealing as it had once seemed. She found someone who made life worth living again and now she's faced with the reality that she cannot leave so swiftly and recklessly. She needs--perhaps even WANTS--to stay for the first time in a long time... if not for herself, then for this angel that she discovered amongst the wreckage of what had once been her life. The song is a reconciliation of the two conflicting desires and her decision that sticking around may not be so bad after all. Soooo, yeah, there ya have it! I may be completely wrong, which is quite likely, but this interpretation led me to hear something new in the song and hear/see something I don't often recognize in myself.
