You could tell from the joy on V’s face that this was exactly the vibe he wanted for his songs. The saxophone player, the background singers and the rest of the band were just outstanding. They really understood exactly what V was looking for. 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽

They are all excellent singers. You should listen to them more. Unless you mean a baritone in which case, yes, he is the only baritone vocalist in the group. RM and Suga are also baritones even tho they are rappers and only occasionally sing

His voice is sonorous. It's like he's singing inside a cave with his resounding voice. It's the kind of voice that you do not only hear but you feel it too. He has really good singing techniques too.

Everyone who works with BTS members and Big Hit staff walks away praising the members as artists and professionals, as well as just loving the experience. It’s one reason (of many) that we fans support them the way we do. So it was no surprise and yet utterly lovely to see the band members commenting. They have also talked about it on their socials. They all have really killed their performances with Tae in these songs.

So true! You can tell he has a deep respect for music and has surrounded himself with the same. So daring of him to step outside of pop and pop/hip op crossover sounds, bc we know it’s not as mass consumed. A true artist.

Most kpop is not something I listen to, but I absolutely love BTS - Taehyung in particular. His type of music is what resonates with me and I believe he is a true artist that is breaking down walls for what is considered "Korean music" and paving the way. This performance is my favourite. Can't say enough about his vocals, background singers, and the band. So well done!

I have so much respect for Taehyung. Instead of chasing the hype, he chose to make music he identifies with the most for his debut. His debut, the most important release of a singers career. He choose the genre he likes, knowing it isn’t a preferred genre by kpoppies. And he chose to showcase his beautiful voice and what it’s capable off without producers abusing it with autotune. And I must say he killed it. There is no skip on Layover. I have been listening tot it nonstop since the release and I still can’t get enough. Im so proud of you Taehyung. Layover has a special place in my heart. Congratulations on your successful debut Taehyung. Im so sad Layover promotion era is almost over. But thank God we have so much content. Thank you so much for working so hard. I will be binge watching everything time and time again. Tiny desk is my favorite though!

I dont know but after the things happened with the Grammy i cant trust it anymore and ngl without even Grammy's Taehyung won all our hearts 💜 and hope he gets all the credits he derserved from around the world ❤

Since this happened, i started to watch a lot of tiny desk performance and i must say, this is one of the best. The band is super talented and the vocals were stable through out. Tae's voice was super impressive and very emotional especially in For Us. I love love love this and i hope to see them again.

I expected a jazzy R&B album from V and he delivered. This tiny desk concert is such fun. He sounds even better live. Slow Dancing is just sublime in this arrangement. Thanks, Tae, for this wonderful gift for ARMY.

I don't really listen to V but this album and this performance impressed me so much. I constantly coming back to this video to listen to this song. Kudos to V and all of the musician and singer who's performing here. Such a tasteful performance!

Ive watched this a hundred times, and my respect for this guy grew each time. He just loved music. Not a greedy person, he let the band shine as much as him. I tried to describe V's voice once but couldn't pin it down. Listening to the sax player clarified it for me. V plays the sax and his voice sounds like one too. They melt together. I would wish for this to be 'his' band and for them to work together often or even on all his music.

if I had to describe his vocals, one thing that comes to mind is 'Velvet'. It's deep, soft, and elegant. His vocals and the wonderful band make this performance PERFECT🌟💜

Thank you for this soulful music! This is coming from a old school gal who is a huge lover of RnB and grew up in it for the last 6 decades. This is my first time hearing K-Pop and this young man NAILED IT! So smooth, soulful, groovy are the musician and background as well as V with his smooth soulful singing. It look like they had a great time on stage. Adding V’s EP to my playlist. Thank you for sharing this amazing talent!

This isn't Kpop this is K R&B V is from the group BTS and I can't even call them a Kpop group because they don't sound anything like the other ones. They are their own genre honestly but back to V or Taehyung he is our little jazz loving trumpet and saxophone playing Mr. You sound for sure check out his other songs and the group they have something for everyone.

On my streaming service, it came up as K-Pop. 🤷🏾‍♀️ But anyway, I will refer it as K-RnB… or just RnB PERIOD! 🤣 Even though RnB’s origins is from black people, as long as it sounds like RnB, we will embrace it. Bobby Caldwell, Teena Marie, Jon B, Simply Red… they all groove with that RnB flavor!💕💖

As a person who has been in love with rnb since a child, these songs and this performance in particular, speaks so much to me. An outstanding band and perfectly tempered vocals by Taehyung makes this one of the most memorable tiny desks. Thank you for an incredible album Taehyung, I will listen to it forever, like all the rnb classics I keep in rotation.

As an Asian and don't know very well about R&B, I love this style of music though. I always love soulful American Black singers like Whitney Housten, Beyonce and Earth Wind & Fire. So I naturally fell in love with Taehyung's voice. Taehyung's live performance, the backup vocals, the musical instruments, the saxophone complement one another so beautifully! This live performance is mind blowing!

Myself, I’m an Asian that grew up in Northern California where rnb and hip hop were the backbone of the culture there. This is perfection. You dont hear or see this in the kpop idol scene and he executed this genre well. Just perfection. The album is short but a 10/10. His voice is like so beautiful and these songs sound way better live with a band. Cant wait for his next release. Shoutout to the band as well. Impeccable.

I could pay for a concert of Tae, even if it was a tiny concert. His music is heaven.

This has been my favorite of all of the solo projects members dropped before enlisting. I knew Tae would deliver something that touched my heart and played me like an instrument. Whenever I listen to the album, I get stuck on "For Us", but the whole record fits so well together. It's such a vibe. 💜

Live is the best!💜V✨💜

I am so incredibly proud of V. His vocals definitely suit that bluesy, jazz and R&B sort of sound. I’m excited to see the direction he continues to go in.

This intimate setting is just how the songs in V's solo album are meant to be experienced. Look at the smile on his face. I love that he recorded an album that reflects himself and the music he wants to create. I hope more people discover V (and BTS) through this performance.

This is really something special. I haven't considered wanting a whole album in a long time from anyone, but V's album seems like not one song would be out of place, and that the whole thing could be put on repeat. Really excellent songs, singing, excellent band and back-up singers here. V shines when he can harmonize with others, his voice truly pops when he's singing with others, especially women, very much so with women, the tone of his voice is perfect for male/female duets, and i haven't ever noticed that with any other male singer before, so that's really cool.

This presentation of their album LAYOVER with the band is WOW!!! They are all so talented and work so organically that it seems like a band formed years ago. It's really amazing!

Oh wow! This Tiny Desk was amazing. Singing jazzy R&B tunes without catchy upbeat music and choreography is like a breath of fresh air from a K-pop artist. He is fearless. It's a brave decision to choose this genre for his solo debut that could either make him or break him. I have become a fan now.

Completely agree. I love this genre best but I know it’s not as consumed as much as pop. I love Taehyung’s most, esp this album, and all his other solos (singularity, stigma, snow flower etc)

Proud to witness history in the making

I don't even have the words to express how proud I am of Taehyung. This is an awesome performance, showcasing all his talents and interest in this genre. How well thought out all songs are in the album! Considering all the way he came since he joined BTS, this makes me proud and happy as if I am his best friend, his biggest supporter, or even his older sister. This is the BTS member who was the secret 'visual' card, yet not given many solos or even meaningful vocals at the beginning. Yet, he persevered, trained, learned, thrived, and here we are. He found his 'soulful' sound, as suggested by the vocal trainer in American Hustle Life. I am so so so happy for him but also for all of us who have been enjoying this journey along with him. Thanks for all the work and keep being awesome!
