I sent this song to a friend this morning because her daughter is a songwriter and I knew she needed to hear this man. Come to find out that friend responds... that her brother picked his gf up from work the other day, and on the way home the car flipped and she did not make it. It gave me chills to hear that she would be passing the song along to him to help heal. I relistened with tears. It brought his music to life, and that's crazy because it was already full of life. Music Heals.

I've never so quickly fell in love with an artist like I did with him. Since I heard the first note of this show about a year ago I haven't stopped listening to his mind blowing and heart moving music. I owe so much thanks to tiny desk for introducing me to this gem, adding immense pleasure to my ears and soul. The lyrics on this guy, I can't handle it!

He really is so so special! In case maybe you'd be interested - Aurora has some magical songs! Start from her older stuff maybe.

Beautiful metaphor. The december as a representative of the cold, dark period of time, but with its small moments of beauty (christmas, new year) translates to these sad periods we sometimes find ourselves in, yet Dermot tells us that there is always this window of happiness amongst our darkest hours. Also, the december symbolises the end of something old and the beginning of something new. The line works on many levels and is a marvel to listen to.

Hands down one of my favorite Tiny Desk Concerts I’ve seen.....I’m floored

I said nearly same to my mum today while listening. They are some great artists from Irland and they sound phenomenal with their accent.

He sounds so much better live than on an album. After seeing him live.....it’s so hard not to tear up hearing the songs after listening to them in person. I didn’t even wear makeup to the concert because I knew I would be crying like a baby the entire time.

I can relate so much to this! I saw him live a month ago at Alexandra Palace in London and bawled my eyes out for most of the songs. I also feel extremely emotional every single time I listen to his songs post-seeing him live. He's an incredible artist who puts his raw emotions into his songs and performances. I feel blessed for having had the opportunity to experience his live singing

i like all of them for separate reasons, colors for introduction and aesthetics, mahogany for acoustic versions, KEXP for the concert-like performance and the interviews and lastly NPR for its stripped down, and impeccable recording sound

Mad props to the gospel singers especially to the soprano in "glory". The arrangement was gorgeous and the harmonies were perfectly tuned and balanced also that slide at the end was surprising and perfect. It made we want all the songs of the album to be with this quartet.

Please don't sleep on this man. I've been following Dermot for some time now and he is truly so incredible. This video doesn't do him justice. By far the best voice of this generation in my opinion. Saw him in Montreal this year and im still in awe at his raw voice. Flawless. Band is top tier too.

I absolutely love how the incredible backup singers just watch him. Witnessing his magic in awe.

He is the standard of hauntingly beautiful painful lyrics. He's such an old soul. Makes me seriously consider reincarnation in a way I can't articulate. I've never felt so happy to feel sorrow. Beyond powerful....

The "Backup singers" are front up! Exquisite all together, big juicy sound!

The backing singer watching him sing at 6 mins - "Boy got a VOICE!" :)

The way the backup singers are looking at him when he sings is everything. I love that these singers were from Howard and were exposed to how far soul music's influence has reached. It upsets me that America is so so shut off from the rest of the talented ppl around the world.

Cannot my “feels” into words. His lyrics, his soul, his voice, the way he closes his eyes, it’s not anything any other artist out there has done or is doing. This is otherworldly magic.

Average pub musicians in Ireland are seriously talented. Small island, big dreams, bounty of talent, massive achievements.

Been obsessed with him for two years. I listen to his music to fall asleep at night. Such raw and powerful talent. He deserves so much recognition. ❤️❤️

dude... i’m obsessed with this guy’s voice and lyrics. holy crap. had spotify playing random acoustic songs at work and this one made me stop and check the name of the artist. 😍

Why the heck do I find this just now. 1 minute in and I am tearing up and goosebumps all over... great great music

The performance is stunning, on everyone's end. Simply amazing, they nailed it. Also one of the backup singers (the one to the left, with long hair) is absolutely astonishing, what a beautiful face!

Omg, I almost feel out of my chair in the first few seconds of this video. What an amazing voice. The man has some soul.

This is one of my favorite performances I've ever watched.

This is literally unbelievably touching. I mean how much emotions can be packed in one performance. Well done Dermot! Can’t wait to see you live one day.

His music is painfully beautiful

You can tell when someone is in their Dahrma. This man puts himself into the song in his entirety, and it draws those who perform with him into it as well. What a moving experience to listen to him.

Dermot Kennedy is amazing. Gospel choir made this video. Drums, piano, keyboards A+++++++.
