I can’t lie, despite “the best” being entirely subjective, I will say this is my personal favourite Tiny Desk ever; even to this day after 5 years. This introduction to Tash changed my life so many years ago, and after experiencing them three times in three different countries, I can’t deny, they are the best live act I have ever seen. They have done so much for me which they will never know but I felt compelled to put it into words and share it in the hopes there may be others who feel similar. We are utterly blessed to have lived in the same time as Tash Sultana. As they have said; “If I'm in a good headspace, then it doesn't matter which direction things go.”

I just saw them live in Hollywood for the first time. It was amazing. Hands down the best musical, possibly the best experience I ever had in my entire life. Tash Sultana came out and I immediately started to cry. And I was like what’s up with that? And then I just cried the entire time. It was like I cried for every time I couldn’t and for every time I couldn’t feel or wouldn’t let myself.

She used to play on the streets of Melbourne a few years ago when only a handful of people knew about her. The first time i have heard her play "Notion" and i literally saw crowds of people getting around and staring in silence, crossing the streets and getting off trams to stop and listen. People looking at each other in disbelief. i got to work late to stop and listen. I can only describe the experience of stumbling across such an amazing experience as meeting God's particles floating through space. Unreal

Nick - Lucky you were at the right place right time to see Tash busking. These rare moments of chance encounters help define and give purpose to our lives. As unexpected and as wonderful to witness raw talent. I barely have the coordination to bash two rocks together in rhythm.

Probably they just get the master recording from the mics/amps running through a computer before being. All electric instruments have input > output w/ simultaneous ability to capture. Each instrument is captured seperately and I'm sure someone in production gets the levels of everything right or just the same as they use at the location. Applause is probably just picked up from mic. Thats my guess Anyway. It's either that or those big mic drop down things you see on movie sets.

I bought my first acoustic guitar a few months ago and I am 43! I want to learn to play!

I'm so glad modern media platforms are allowing these independent, talented artists. I've met a few of these types in my lifetime in music and they either don't do well in bands or they just end up limiting their creativity in traditional band environments. I'm glad artists like these are finally getting the outlet they deserve.

The thing is that the majority of people is like being brainwashed by the nonsene mainstream music wich is produced nowdays. They just totally are not ''open'' for music like this, well atleast that is my observation from it. I am so glad i came across this Girl since 2 days ago, it was like a gift for my mind and soul !

Being independent doesn't mean one is better or more creative than others. I'm not saying anything about Tash here, but this comparison does not make any sense.

Holy mother of Jesus. Best thing My ears have ever heard. I only found her 2 weeks ago. Soo underrated. I’m literally in love with her. 🔥

With every layer added at the beginning of the song, my anticipation for the vocals grew… and I was not disappointed! Love the soulful depth, texture, and edge of her vocals. Count me a new fan.

Sounds wonderful! That's also on the top of my bucket list, but with Nepal instead of Peru. Someday I want to take the Inca trail as well, but Nepal is top priority. Hope you will have many more magical moments like that 💜

Her constant smile, her movements that vibrate happiness, her shimmering face from the drops of sweat, it's amazing how much she enjoys what she is doing! And the way she communicates that is even more amazing. Thank you for making my sad day a bit more "noisy", a bit more different than the rest of the days, thank you.

Nice to see modern guitarists having that much fun with their pedalboard. Holy shit she's all over the place, I love it. You can watch her make all these little adjustments with her knobs and her feet constantly kicking on and off effects, she's obsessed with her tone. Best click I've made all month!

Discovering her on youtube, then seeing her on Rock Werchter early on the day was awesome ! She made the whole crowd move (which is incredible as one of the first acts of the day ! She was by far one of the best acts of the day

She's a tremendous artist. What a stunning performance. Emotional. Beautiful. Intense... The way she gives her heart and soul during Blackbird is absolutely amazing!! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

I wish I was passionate about ANYTHING in life the way she is passionate about her music. An absolute treasure. What a fantastic artist.

Absolutely. Everything is sound. Energy and frequencies make up everything in the universe. Everything vibrates with harmonic frequencies. In the beginning was sound. The word, the big bang, the ohm or whatever you want to call it was a sound. Our voices are some of the most powerful and dynamic sound machines known. Most just don't know how to connect to it. She's apparently very much tuned in.

Still 6 years later having been here from the start. She proves in these sings an ability to do rock,blues,reggae,hip hop,lyricism and talent. It's actually truly silly how intricate these layers and melodies are for one person. I rate this up there best luve performance or at least top 3 by any artist past ten years or maybe more? Idk. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I stumbled across Tash about 5 years ago now randomly while tripping and the sheer amount of passion, emotion and talent conveyed absolutely moved my soul. It’s been a couple years since listening and returning to this and her other works is truly incredible. Much love Tash from one of many 💚

I desperately need her performance & Tank and The Bangas performance both on vinyl! They are my top 2 Tiny Desk concerts they deserve it.

This is the best new music I've heard in a LONG time! You've stimulated my ears and electrified my nerves...I FEEL this in my soul! What an amazing artist! Your guitar and vocals are ....mesmerizing! Instantly in love with your first song!

I love Tash because it is absolutely impossible to sing to her live music. Is so unpredictable. She is so different than other artists I've heard. She's not afraid. She makes me feel free.

It warms the cockles of my heart to see how many people have found this young lady and her music.
